My father Jyotindra Mehta, suffered acute renal failure, and successfully underwent kidney transplant surgery at Breach Candy hospital, in Bombay, in 1979 - next week, he celebrates his 19th transplant anniversary. He is currently 63, and healthy. He has also published informative booklets, "Life with kidney failure", "Life after kidney transplant".
