Purpose of Life

I have been seeing a lot of postings on Gita . So I figured that while
fellow inmates are in the right mood I can slip in a question which has me
confounded for quite some time.
What is the purpose of life ??
When I went to school I was told what I should do . I was guided at all
times by the teacher & my parents who kept constantly reminding me the
objectives.
When I took up a job my boss constantly told what I should do and if I
went wrong I was corrected then there .
However when it comes to life I am not clear what I should achieve. There
are only philosophers who proclaim various schools of thought. Yet I am
told that when I die the day of judgement will come where I will be
pointed out the sins I have committed and I am sent back to earth as a
punishment. When I am reborn I don't even remember what sins I committed
so that I don't repeat them !!!! Enlighten me please.

If I am born in a family of Pandit, it does not mean I too bacame Pandit.
If I have passed several examinations, it does not entitle me to be
selected for IAS or other top services. If I am learning and learning , it
does not mean I have absorbed what I learnt. Again what I say, depends upon
where I stand. In fact we go to prepare for the examination(learning) half
heartedly and then complain about the result which we do not get.
Whenever free, prefer to go through this web page and send your comments.
Based on your comments , we will see that in case you agree to our
condition (if desire to know truth), our Guide will make you realize the
effect of the Cosmic Beam at your place itself without involving word,
"challenge". The books which we refer, are beyond the reach of we common
human beings who are deeply involved in material craze throughout the day
and have no time to sense even a little of the Universal Consciousness of
which we are the part.

Folks on this list may be interested in browsing through the posts on the
newsgroup sci.skeptic for an alternate perspective on religious issues. I
have found this newsgroup always informative, frequently hilarious and at
times profound.
Beware, don't post there without getting a feel for the nature of the
discussions, or you will be cyber-shredded to tatters...

Dear Sriram,
There is only One Purpose of Life, as per Hindu Philosophy, and it is :-
Let your soul merge with the GOD. i.e. attain Moksha, or a Union with a
God.
In the process you will encounter various difficulties, since it is not a
Simple One. Like True to your fellow beings, be honest, Do your duty, etc.
etc. , which is not possible in today's world, i.e. kalyug.
So what One should do , to attain a Mecca in today's world ?
That can enable One go get rid of One Sin's in this life without even
knowing what sins he has committed in his past life and what good deeds he
shall do NOW in this life to attain a Moksha is the crux of your problem.
Gita provides an answer to this also !!!!
It is very simple to Understand at the same very complex to Understand and
practice.
It depends on which phase of evolution you or anyone is going through.
There are 7 phase's of evolution in each Human being.
Now the question is how you or anyone can know in which phase of
evolution
he or she is going through.
To know this you need a Master or a Guru who can test you and tell you in
which grade , class or a phase you are now ?
Once your assessment is done properly, you will come to know , where you
stand, what you should do, which path to follow, etc. etc. to attain
Moksha. It's not a difficult path or just written in some obscure 2000 to
5000 years old books, invalid in present circumstances.
I could go on for a long time.... and it may get boring for lot of
people.

Dear Sriram,
One has to find the purpose of life by oneself. Even if people / books do
tell you as to what and how, it is very unconvincing until and unless it
comes from within.
My purpose in life is to be happy. And for that I need to be clear
within myself as to what I am and what I do. If I am constantly careful
about that then I think I will make lesser mistakes. Being honestly
critical about myself also makes me a better person.
