Science

25 Sep 1998      K.Varatharajan @igcar.ernet.in

Dear Friends,

I am a materials scientist by profession. I am in this profession since
1976 and my experience in analysis of non-living materials by concepts of
materials scientist could give a very good sight in comparing materials
science with spiritual science. Analysis of materials by any individual
whether he/she is an easterner or westerner should give the same data from
the analysing tool. Based on the analysis of data one materials scientist
used to differ from other materials scientist because of the
characteristic nature of interpretation the individual materials scientist
will give. This is where concept of spiritual science comes - an important
aspect to judge and differentiate between individual and institution (a
team work). This prompts me to honour our father of nation Mahatma Gandhi
who spoke about individual respect, simple technologies suitable to India.
I can go on writing more on this because instability of our nation's
economy bothers me for more than a decade. This is my first message and I
shall continue depending on the response from other brothers and sisters
in India. Now, I conclude with the saying that stability in India can be
assured if both materials science and spiritual science are equally
practiced for the goal of tranquility among mankind and emerging India as
an example to all other countries in the world.

Regards,

Yours sincerely

Dear Friends,

Please refer to my mail dated 25th September on the subject. Responding to
my mail, one Ms. Seema has remarked that the topic is interesting and
prompted to me continue. Actually, I wanted to do that yesterday itself.
But in the course of actions on laboratory experiments, I after reading
the rest of email messages forgetfully deleted all the messages and in
that process, I just lost email address of Ms. Seema. So, for the sake of
communication, I am continuing on "Science" in this mail and today's topic
is "Great men think alike - Viewing through Tamil Scholar `Nakkeerar' and
French Physicist,`de Broglie' - Spritual scientist and Materials
scientist"

Through his work, `THIRU MURUGATTRUPPADAI', Nakkeerar elaborated the
spritual characters of Lord Muruga - Lord for Tamil. Eventually, he had
touched upon the concept of `Mater and No Mater' in his explanations on
Lord Muruga at Palani through the words,
"ORU PER URUVIL IRU PER YAAKKAI"
meaning that there exist only one body but appears to be in two forms. At
Palani, Lord Muruga has assumed the form representing "No Mater". If we
interpret this as mater converted into energy, Lord Muruga at Palani is
100% energy. Similarly, Nakkeerar's observation on Lord Muruga at
Thiruthani will lead to the understanding that Lord Muruga at Thiruttani
is 100% mater. So, Nakkeerar considers Lord Muruga to assume to two forms
namely mater and energy with appropriate percentage of composition - i.e.
- Dual Nature of Mater (Lord Muruga). This understanding has evolved in
his period - aroung 200 to 100 B.C. ( The Period of Last Tamil Sangha).
In 20th century, de Broglie's theory on mater - "Dual Nature of Mater"
also states that for every moving body (representative of mater) there
exists associated wavelength (representative of energy) defined by (h/p)
where `h' is Planck's Constant and `p' is the linear momentum of moving
body. The vibration associated with the wavelength is perpendicular to the
direction in which the body is moving. de Broglie assigned mater and
energy to moving bodies down upto the smallest particles like electron,
proton, neutron etc. while Nakkeerar assigned all these to Lord Muruga.
That is the only difference. But if one carefully looks at the nature of
thinking by Nakkeerar and de Broglie, both these scholars think alike.
Physicist de Broglie tries to understand the motion of various particles
while Nakkeerar tries to understand the tranquility through `mater and no
mater forms of Lord Muruga'. So, these two great men think alike. This
induces me to interpret further that soul of Tamil scholar Nakkeerar has
made a journey for more than 2100 years in the universe and has entered
into the body of de Broglie, French Physicist in our days. Prior to him, I
do not know in which scholar's body this great soul could have existed and
done the spiritual/material duty for the sake of human kind and other
constituents of nature, the gift from Almighty. In fact, I have tried to
find solutions to various materials science problems through my article,
"Tamil and Materials Science", which has already been published in a book,
"Tamil and Interdisciplinaries" by Internation Institute for Tamil
Studies. This article is in Tamil and I have already its English Version
personaly with me. If any one is interested, I can send either Tamil
Version or English version.

With kind regards,

(K.Varatharajan)
