A Professional Attitude

Dear INN mates , It is my observation that we have a lack of proper work etiquette; though we possess a world class work force in every field. Even the founders of this country have insisted time and again that " we should have Dignity of Labour ". They meant that one should feel proud of the work in which he is involved. This is right. But one cannot see it happening in the offices today, in this country. The sense of purpose is missing. We don't see ourselves as an important piece which is needed to complete the Jigsaw puzzle of society. Complaints are of the nature " That is not my work", " I don't do such dirty jobs" etc. One must be a professional. Ownership of one's work can only bring about total Commitment to the job. Every little bit that is needed to complete the job becomes a part and parcel of one's work. It is not a piece meal effort that produces good work. Hard work on one's part can only bring about appreciation of the labour of another man. When each and every man is working very hard, bringing about the very best he/she has, even the CEO of a corporate will appreciate the neat and clean sparkling floors of the company's building ( which is the proud work of the Janitor). The common man of the first world countries where I have been to have such regal qualities. Hence they are where they are today. Prosperous and proud. That is because they did everything with their own two hands. Each one. Truly, Arun
