Bio-Medical Engineering

Hi folks, I would be interested to know if anyone could suggest me the possibilities of the future of someone who completes his Bio-Medical Engineering. Afaik, most of my people seem to be switching onto the computer field. I've heard that the BME profession does have a good demand in the US. Could someone give me some inputs as to what a student completing this course should embark upon? Thanks a lot, Chalapathi And His Four-Line Signature! :-)

Hello, My name is Setu Shah. I have done my Major in Eletrical Engineering with minor in Mathematics and Bio-Medical Engineering in US. There is no demand for Bio-Medical Engineers on Bachelors or Masters level. If you want to go upto PhD level yes there is some demand for that. You can find a job in educational institutes or some research hospitals with this qualifications, and you have to depend a lot on grnants. If you run out of money in grants there goes your job. It is a tricky situation. On the other hand computer science is still a very hot field. If you are good in any INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY field such as networking(UNIX/NT) Programming(JAVA, VB, C, C++), Database(ORACLE, SYBASE, SQL), Internet, or Hardware (Routers, Switches, Hubs) you can get a highly paid job easily.
