Beware: Credit Card holders

Hi friends, I have a photo-card from Standard Chartered. This card was valid in India & Nepal only, like most other cards. Lately, they have introduced a Global Card and they have advertised it as being 'at not extra cost' in all their brochures. But to my surprise, when I went to get one, they asked for Rs. 200 extra - now this is not mentioned anywhere in their brochures. This led me to check their 'picture-card' offer, which also was similarly advertised some months back - and sure enough, they had an additional cost attached to that too - your subscription cost (annual fee) will go up by Rs. 100 if you opt for a picture card !!! IMHO, these credit card companies are taking people for a ride by employing tactics like false propaganda / suppression of facts, etc. I hope this useful to existing & prospective credit-card holders. So beware ( or be aware ) :-). Regards, Pravin.

Hi ! I am an SCB card holder and I too had wanted an upgrade to Global Card but when i called their help line regarding this , they informed me that in due course all cardmembers will get an offer for the same and if one decides to get it upgraded right now , one would have to pay Rs 200/- extra. I think it was nice of them to inform the customer about additional charges . Otherwise too , SCB services are quiet good - better than AMEX atleast , with which I have had a very bad experience.
