Spirit of India

Hello, I was recently talking to one of my friends about the situation India is in. While talking, we discussed China. We were of the opinion that Chinese people are truly proud of their country. While we, though, we may be making more noises about being proud, are not. He also suggested that the British rule in India broke the spirit of India. That was the main reason for many of our present day troubles. Any thoughts and comments on this idea. If you need to contact the person who originally mooted this idea tell me. Bye, Aseem.

I agree with you - Though we all say we are proud to be Indians (Including myself) there is very little we are willing to do about really living by what we say - very little sacrifice we are willing to make - I personally feel that it is because we are too selfish and unconcerned about what happens around us as long as we can circumvent the problem because we all feel that it is happening to someone else or that as an individual what difference can I make. I would blame our government who is also self centered and our legal system which does not and cannot delivery justice efficiently and fairly thereby a common person is hesitant to take support of the very law which was meant to protect their interests. A rich influential person, a political leader, police, etc can get away with almost anything however blatantly evident it maybe that the crime was commited. We deserve what we tolerate and nobody except ourselves are to blame for this.
