India and America:liberty and freedom in the system

I kind of agree with you. People all over the world seem to be all the same. what matters most is the systems they work with. How come that hundreds of Indians living outside India, in some affluent countries, are able to do fine for themselves, contribute to the society they live in, and get a pat for what they are doing. and back at home almost everybody is at pain. I would like to draw your attention to a small article " How America became rich?" A reprint was given to me by my guru Dr.C.N.Patil. It is the competetion, openness and liberty in the system which makes the system to appreciate somebody's ideas, efforts, views, comments and even differences, which keep the system ticking, rewarding the contributor and enthusing a feeling of being somebody. In this article I mentioned above, a story of a worker in the transport business was given as an example. His efforts could help his company to carry more packages and it was said that millions of such contributions, coming from millions of somebodys, make the system and people and country rich. I do not have the reprint of the article. I remember it was published before May-June 98, the author was a lady. If somebody could send me details, I will be obliged. We, in Shetkari Sanghatana, here, in India, believe that India for long has suffered at the hands of rulers and systems favouring closed and controlled regimes after regimes. We also believe that unless governments role is limited to defence and protection of citizens, and massive privatization and deregulation is effected, Indians have no future.
