Congratulations and Gratitude

Congratulations to Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupati for their Wimbledon victory. Special Congratulations to Lenader Paes for the Wimbledon Mixed Doubles victory. Gratitude to all the soldiers up there in Kargil, who despite having the ability (and the burning deisre, I suppose) to chase the enemy across the LOC, paid with their lives but stuck to orders. And hats off to the political and military leadership for once again establishing the superiority of India even times of adversity. The battle is not over, however. Our generation, which did not witness the Freedom Struggle, the Partition or the trials of the previous wars will now probably have to live with the realisation that a more bitter conflict can well erupt again in the future.
