You could contact the publishers Motilal Banarsidas - they should have some good books on Vedic Maths. Remember getting hold of one years back - it was very interesting - and as far as I remember it was published by Motilal Banarsidas. I presume that you do not want to buy the book; just how to understand it. Some portions of it are pretty straight forward, others more complicated. I do not think one can use it in it's entirety today. Rather it should be construed as a great thesis by a great sage and scholar, Shri Sankaracharya. Unless you use the system regularly, it would not become naturalt to you. Seems some pieces out of it were copied by some one in Germany and they called it the TRACHTENBERG SYSTEM. //R.C. Sharma
