Seeking many opinions on events in Gujarat

Folks I just got on to this list and am enjoying reading the discussions. Thank you for having this list and thank you to all the folks who write. I wanted to know if it would be acceptable for me to send the list an html questionnaire. I live in Gujarat and wanted to get everyone's opinions on what had been happening here. Is this okay to do? And how would one send a an html questionnaire in a manner that would facilitate easy replying for everyone? My concern is to get responses in a format that would allow me to collate and share the results with the government folks here who ought to be more sensitive to publicopinion but don't seem have to have access to enough.

Firstly, it is really to be appreciated that you first asked as to what would be acceptable as every public gathering has its unwritten norms and preferences. You are most welcome to post the questionnaire but please post the questionnaire in plain text to Interact Inn. Reasons given below, if anyone is interested. In general, it is best not to post html mails on mailing lists as everyone is using different mail clients and many are unable to read the mails and reply to mails. For those whose mail clients do not support html mails, the mail simply looks like untidy gibberish. HTML mails in public areas are basically not appreciated. You could prepare the questionnaire in plain text - that way one is sure that everyone can read and reply. If html is necessary, you could put it up on a webpage and request everyone on the mailing list to go to the webpage and respond. The advantage here is - it will be possible to store the responses in a systematic manner automatically - but it will require programming. The disadvantages: 1. There are several members who do not have access to the web - they will be unable to respond even if they want to 2. Amongst those who can, a much smaller number will respond as they have to GO to the questionnaire, instead of the questionnaire coming to them 3. Irrespective of how simply you do it, you will have to apply some technology/programming to catch the reponse when the visitor presses the submit button. Yes. I second that. If you have a form, even a primitive one send it to this list and have some simple interactive buttons like a [ ] (empty space to fill) against your questionnaire topics. The reader can place an X to give his/her idea in that white space. Please do go ahead and post it if you have anything like that. I spent some time in Ahmedabad myself and would like to see the results too. You should make it a point to post the survey results on the list too. Regards, Arup Bhanja, Calcutta, INDIA.
