The list of HAMs internationally can be looked up from the below website: http://www.qrz.com/name.html Just enter "Calcutta" in the search field. I got about 178 records for that query. As for S Calcutta, I guess you will have to figure that out with PIN codes. Cross reference this list with the telephone directory, and you should have some names to contact. ~Vamsi VU 2 VMP

Dear Sharat There are a lot of Ham operating form Cal. VU2AP Amal Da is one of the ham operates regularly on HF u can hear him on 7060 USB every morning , many are available every morning on VHF. on 144.500 MHZ. Suorjit is operating form Uttar Pada. Bye for now. Regards and 73 DE Dilip VU2DPI

Two pointers: You should be able to get contacts of Ham operators from Birla Industrial and Technological Museum, Gurusaday Road. Also, The Telegraph had reported about a group of Ham operators who were doing very good work in Orissa after the cyclone. They had established a base in Mandevilles Gardens, Gariahat. It was reported in the "metro" supplement I think - you could try asking The Telegraph.
