Cyber Cafe in Calcutta

Dear Inn Mates I wanted to have an idea about the concept of Cyber Cafe in Calcutta. How many such cafes are there at Cal. What facilities do they offer ? and what are the ongoing charges for these services. What would the potential if one is opened near Park Street ? Vikas,
I was involved for a year in setting up India's first Coffee Day
Cyber Cafe at Brigade Road, Bangalore, in 1995.
After one year lot of Cyber Cafes were opened and I doubt whether
others are doing well in Bangalore, Mumbai or Hyderabad.
Here the key issue (my observation) is the ambiance which these
cafes provide more than the Internet connection itself.
Bangalore Coffee Day Cyber Cafe provides excellent coffee and snacks
for people/family waiting for their friend/relative who is busy
checking his email.
Here the Cafe guys subcontracted the snack bar to an outside Caterer
and now they have five of them all over Bangalore.
One more suggestion. You can rent the night time too to software
companies at lower tariff for uploading/downloading gegas of files or
for providing online help.
Vikas, these are my observations and not trying to promote CDCC or
anything else.
