Hi friends, Can any body put light on the prevailing offers from various ISP in India. I am given info on one Biznet is giving One year subscription for Rs. 8500.00 with no hours limit. Pol also have come up with Rs.8888.00 per annum with no hours limit and in addition they give one 56kbps internal modem free to subscribers under this scheme. Any more have anything else? Please forward info on ISP scene in India.....

I am given info on one Biznet is giving One year subscription for VSNL and Satyam seem to be fighting a price war - each is offering new discounted deals every day. Satyam has offered to double the number of purchased hours, with the condition that the additional hours be used late at night. In the present scenario, the majour cost of net access seems to be the high telephone costs which one must pay - one unit every three minutes - about Rs. 25 per hour. MTNL is strong in the areas it operates in only because it is able to offer a combined phone / net deal. I pity the other ISP wannabe's who had calculated their break-even based on the rates prevailing earlier this year and are now desperately offering packages to attract customers. In terms of services and resources, VSNL has no equal. The equation may change when cable operators start offering net access. The people making money today are the owners of cuber cafes, business centers and net enabled PCO's who are operating from the smaller cities of India. They have a fantastic traffic even at the high rates that they charge - about Rs. 20/- per page for email and about Rs. 200/- per hour for net access. My company has provided the technology for such businesses in Bihar and Assam, and I am amazed to see the returns that these businesses are generating. Thank you!
