Data warehousing

22 Oct 1998      D.Haldar @pobox.com

I should be grateful if some one could advise on the system requirements
for data warehousing for say 500 clients consisting of professional people.
This is proposed to be set up in uptown New York .
If you could refer us to any consultants on the subject for preliminary
data I should be grateful.

Many thanks,

D. Haldar

NCR Corporation is definitely the
expert on data warehousing
today. I am not sure who would
be the best contact there. However,
I am sure you can find the necessary
information by viewing their web page
on scalable data warehousing at
http://www3.ncr.com/sdw/

NCR has been in the data warehousing
solution for years. As a matter of fact,
they have installed the largest data
warehousing solution in the world. Their
larger solutions are for companies similar
to Walmart. However, they also have
installed thousands of smaller systems
for companies similar to what you describe.

Actually, data warehousing is one of NCRs
primary focuses. I noticed on their web
page this month features an article on
data warehousing by their CEO.

Their home page is http://www.ncr.com

Hope that this helps.

P.S.: NCR is an expert in multi-processing servers.
Over the last year their Worldmark 4380 server has
won many prestigious awards including Best Server
at Comdex. This server is ideal as a base for your
data warehouse system. See the following for more info:
