Show that you care for the Indian Armed Forces...

13th June 1999      Harshal Jawale @giasbm01.vsnl.net.in

Ask not what your country can do for you...

...but if you feel helpless in doing something for the brave people
defending our nation & to whatever it stands for, this is a
chance to make a difference however small it may be.

If it does not make much sense reading the lines above, read the
     daily newspapers & visit

These are a few details available there.

     Army Central Welfare Fund
There has been a large number of requests from
all over the world asking for information on
sending contributions to families/ survivors of
our valiant soldiers who have laid down their
lives in the service of the nation recently in
Kargil Operations .They have performed the
supreme sacrifice which a soldier can do.

Army Central Welfare Fund maintained by the
Adjutant General's Branch aims at rehabilitating
the families of these soldiers for their personal
               sacrifice for the nation.Contributions including
those from the NRI's are welcome.
Cheques/Account Payee Drafts may be made in the
favour of "Army Central Welfare Fund", at the

Contributions made to the Fund are fully exempted from Income
Tax under Section 80G of Indian Income Tax Act 1961.

At Rs 24 per air sortie, the air force officers are willing to lay
down their lives for the country. For the land forces below, any
mistakes do not lead to a second round. There is no second chance &
they know it. They laid down their lives so that our future
generations can continue living in peace. As in case of squadron
leader Ahuja and his compatriots on the ground, their children will
hardly be able to recall the faces of their parents. They did it so
that the rest of us are still living as peace loving Indians, watch
more cricket matches between India and pakistan, watch those
commercials with our heroes drinking colas, brushing their teeth,
driving cars, and destroying the bad guys without suffering a
     scratch.

You will never get to hear abt most of the people dead, missing or
greiviously injured & disabled for the rest of their lives. But the
least you can do is give you contributions in what ever small
     amounts possible individually.

     Please act in earnest,

....This time you CAN do something for your country.
