Charitable Foundation in India

Hi , I want to start a small charitable foundation in India - in Mumbai . The main aim is to directly help primary and secondary school children by providing books . Can anyone here give me information about how to go about it ? How do I register the foundation ? Who do I contact ? What are the expenses involved ? And so on . Thanks in advance . anand

| How do I register the foundation ? You can register it under Bombay Public Trust Act, Societies Registration Act, 1860 or under section 25 of the Companies Act . | Who do I contact ? For the first Act, contact the Charity Commissioner. For the Companies Act, contact Registrar of Companies, 100 Marine Drive, Mumbai 20. | What are the expenses involved ?
